SSI Membership Profile


Currently more than 3500 scientists are enrolled on the SSI network. SSI members range from graduate students to senior scientists in a range of fields, the majority having expertise in the life, physical, and earth sciences.

SSI members work in a variety of institutions. While the majority (approximately 65 percent) is in academia, SSI also draws members from the private sector, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

SSI members hail from every US state and 56 countries internationally. California leads with over 500 members, followed by New York, Massachusetts, Florida, and Washington.
