DOE Announces Design for New Nuclear Bomb 3/5/2007

On Friday, March 2, 2007, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) released a statement in response to the Department of Energy's (DOE) announcement that they have selected a design for the so-called Reliable Replacement Warhead (RRW).

The RRW is a proposed new hydrogen bomb, the first in a series of new bomb designs ultimately intended to replace all current U.S. nuclear warheads over the next two to three decades.

Please call or email with any questions you may have or if you wish to discuss how you can be involved in our efforts to stop the RRW program and cancel its funding.
