Keep Antibiotics Working (KAW) UCS is a leading member of this coalition of health, environmental, consumer, sustainable agriculture, humane, and other advocacy groups. The coalition works to mobilize the medical community, opinion leaders, grassroots organizations, businesses and Congress to take action and support legislation to reduce antibiotic use in animal agriculture.

Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antibiotics Nonprofit organization that conducts international networking, educational, and research activities; promotes the appropriate human and animal use of antibiotics; and links to ROAR (Reservoirs of Antibiotic Resistance Network), a project to investigate the role of commensal bacteria in emergence of antibiotic resistance.
Animal Production Systems Created by Dr. Charles Benbrook, consultant and co-author of Hogging It!, this site is a resource for information regarding food animal production systems. The site specifically addresses the impact of antimicrobial use on the environment, public health, and economy; CAFOs and manure management; and rewarding innovation in animal production. Provides access to information on state, federal, local and international laws, regulations, and policies regarding antimicrobial use and animal food systems.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Bacterial & Mycotic Diseases Deals with infectious bacterial disease and antibiotic resistance; includes links to the CDC's key programs, including food safety, disease surveillance, and antibiotic resistance.
Food and Drug Administration - Center for Veterinary Medicine Provides information on CVM's current regulatory activities with antibiotics used in animal agriculture and link to the Green Book, the FDA approved animal drug list.
Geological Survey Toxic Substances Hydrology Program Describes USGS's national reconnaissance project to collect baseline information of emerging contaminants (including human and veterinary drugs) in U.S. streams.
National Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring Service (NARMS) A collaborative effort among the Food and Drug Administration's Center for Veterinary Medicine, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Through regular sampling of retail meats, healthy farm animals, and isolates from human and veterinary medicine, NARMS tracks the level of antibiotic resistance among various disease-causing bacteria, and provides this information to doctors and veterinarians.
National Institutes of Health - Foodborne Diseases Information about the incidence and cost of foodborne diseases in the United States, specifically botulism, campylobacteriosis, E. coli infection, salmonellosis, and shigellosis.
U.S. Department of Agriculture - Center for Animal Health Monitoring Distributes data on animal health from national studies and industry sources, including data on antibiotic use and projects to reduce the evolution of drug resistance.
World Health Organization An affiliate of the United Nations working to improve world health; includes information and technical reports on infectious diseases, antibiotic resistance, and food safety. The WHO report Impacts of Antimicrobial Growth Promoter Termination in Denmark (pdf) describes how a ban on the use of antibiotics for growth promotion in animals has dramatically reduced the reservoir of resistant bacteria in food animals in Denmark.
