There are hundreds of useful and interesting web sites on energy out there, more than enough to overwhelm you. We've selected just a few general ones here as a starting point. - Provides comprehensive energy data.
- DOE's National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL)
- This is the primary research lab for solar, wind, biomass, and other renewables.

- This is the research center for the utility industry.

- This is a vast and expanding web site.
- Iowa Wind Energy Campaign

- From British Petroleum, lots of good data on world energy use and production.

- Provides cases studies of energy solutions worldwide and an opportunity to discuss them.

- CREST is a clearinghouse for renewable energy, with lots of educational materials and an extensive list of renewable energy links.
- Energy Education Online
- This site provides information for teachers who want to teach about energy issues.
- The Alliance to Save Energy
- This site has several interesting features, including lesson plans on energy efficiency for teachers and a Home Energy Checkup, by which you can find out how much energy and money you can save (and how much pollution such savings will avoid) by implementing energy-efficiency measures.
